Israel Prepares for Potential Hamas Attacks on Anniversary of October 7th Assault
Tel Aviv, Israel (October 6, 2024) – As Israel approaches the one-year anniversary of the devastating October 7, 2023, Hamas attacks, the Israeli military is ramping up its security measures across the country, anticipating possible assaults on this symbolic date. "The amount of rockets fired from Gaza into Israel has dropped dramatically," he stated, though cautioning that there is still a long way to go in neutralizing Hamas and Hezbollah's extensive rocket arsenals.
New Ground Operation in Gaza
Amid these rising tensions, Israel has launched a new ground operation in the northern Gaza area of Jabalya, which has seen extensive destruction after nearly a year of fighting. The IDF cited evidence of Hamas attempting to rebuild in the area, prompting the latest offensive.
To minimize civilian casualties, Shoshani also announced the opening of two evacuation routes for those fleeing the conflict zones in northern Gaza, reaffirming the IDF’s commitment to safeguarding innocent lives amidst ongoing military actions.
