Drone Intercepted Over Israel: Nursing Home Damaged in Herzliya
Herzliya, Israel — A nursing home in central Israel sustained damage after the Israeli military intercepted a drone originating from Lebanon on Friday night. The military reported that it detected two aircraft crossing into Israeli airspace, leading to the activation of emergency alerts.
In an official statement, the Israeli Air Force confirmed the successful interception of one drone but did not provide details on the fate of the second aircraft. As a result of the incident, a nursing home in Herzliya—a coastal city located in central Israel—was reportedly damaged.
Images released by the military depicted shattered windows and destroyed furniture within the facility, with water pooling on the floor of a hallway adjacent to the affected area. Eyewitness accounts noted that police received multiple reports of rocket fragments landing in the Herzliya region.
Israeli police, along with bomb disposal units, were dispatched to the scene to handle debris from the interception. Fortunately, initial reports indicated no casualties as a result of the drone incident.
