In a bold new statement, former President Donald Trump has directed his ire towards tech giant Google, accusing the company of showcasing only favorable stories about Vice President Kamala Harris while allegedly suppressing positive coverage of him. Trump, known for his fierce criticism of media bias, posted on Truth Social, calling Google’s actions "illegal" and suggesting that if reelected, he would push the Department of Justice to prosecute the company for what he claims is election interference.
Trump’s post read: "Google has illegally used a system of only revealing and displaying bad stories about Donald J. Trump, some made up for this purpose, while, at the same time, only revealing good stories about Comrade Kamala Harris. This is an ILLEGAL ACTIVITY."
The former president hinted at the possibility of taking matters into his own hands should he return to the Oval Office. "Hopefully, the Justice Department will criminally prosecute them for this blatant interference of elections. If not, I will request their prosecution at the maximum levels when I win the Election."
Trump’s comments follow a recent report by the Media Research Center (MRC), a conservative organization, that claims Google’s search results demonstrate a bias favoring Harris over Trump. This study has since gained traction in right-wing media outlets, including the New York Post and Fox News.
As election season heats up, Trump’s ongoing feud with Big Tech is likely to remain a prominent narrative in his campaign.
